Running a Business Locally

Written by admin on April 30, 2009 in: Marketing and Advertising |

One of my favorite things to any time I visit a place is check out the local shops They always have so much character, and usually great buys! This type of business can be a lucrative career choice if managed effectively. It requires a good understanding of Business strategy and business planning You will need a general understanding of business strategy and business planning, but other than that all you need is a creative idea! After you get an idea, all you have to do is find and by a place. After you have the nitty-gritty settled, you’re ready to open up shop.
Location is an imperative to a successful store. If you pick an outlet in a bad part of town or an area where no one visits, it will affect your business. Small businesses usually cannot afford widespread advertising. So, no one will know that such a jewel is hidden in a bad location. Picking a lucrative spot can be the difference between money spent and money earned. My favorite stores are the ones in fun places.Anything near a waterfront or the city is a good choice. Giving your customers a reason to stick around your store is great.important. If you’re located next to an ice-cream shack, people eating ice-cream may just wander into your store. What more could you ask for!
In addition; your store has to be welcoming. You have to persuade people into shopping at your store. This should be done is a low key fashion. People are often offended by flashy signs and in-your-face advertisement.Little touches of homeliness and cheer will do the trick. Adding bright colored window curtains will attract viewers from across the way, or even those driving by. Another nice touch would be chairs and tasteful decorations outside. This will make your business appear welcoming and friendly. Being tasteful is something you have to remember, you don’t want toexclude anyone of any belief from your store.Failing to do this will loose you customers and credibility. You don’t want to drive away people who could become loyal customers Always keep an open door.
You also have to seriously think about what it is you are selling. After all, that is what a store is for. You want your store to have a purpose. Try not to end up being the “junk drawer” of retail. Look at your target audience if you need help deciding what to sell. If you’re located near water, a fishing or water sport store would be wise. If you’re near the city, maybe clothing and accessories would be more rewarding. Targeting your product to the area your in will also bring in visitors. When people travel they like immerse themselves in local culture, so stores that reflect their culture will be very popular among tourists!
Small stores are some of my favorites. Being run by individuals makes them have character, appeal, and they are usually very nicely operated. Starting a small business of your own can be a great money maker if you have the right stuff. It doesn’t have any set pre-requisite other than, maybe, people skills. Tips to remember if you are thinking of starting a business are location, appeal, and product. The location of your store is directly related to success. Also, your store has to be aesthetically pleasing. Lastly, always take great care when deciding what you are going to sell.Choose a product that is popular and needed by your target audience.

Employ Google Adwords To Drive Visitors To Your Website

Written by admin on April 29, 2009 in: Internet |

If you want to make money on the internet this report will get you going in the right direction.

Highly targeted traffic is one of the most important entities when you have a internet business. Any website owner or administrator recognizes the importance of driving traffic to a website. The success of any website does not rely entirely on the site itself. You may have a terrific idea for a website, offer an excellent product or service, or have an exceptionally designed site with superb content, but if you do not use the right strategies to advertise, your site would not attract the high traffic you need. Attracting targeted traffic is a task that should be taken seriously for any site to succeed or make a profit. Fortunately, there are internet-marketing tools that help the website marketer to drive traffic to his website. One of the most significant, and effective, of these tools is Google’s Adwords. Adwords is one of Google’s advertising services.

How does Google Adwords work? Google is the largest search engine on the web receiving over 200 million queries each day through its various services. As Google is the most popular search engine today, webmasters are keen on having their websites achieve a higher ranking in the search engine results it provides. A high ranking can mean high traffic for that website. The search engine results page is also a great venue for advertisers to promote a product or service through ads and links. Consequently, Google launched its Adwords service, as a way for businesses to advertise products and services to a targeted audience. Google Adwords can guarantee instant traffic. In this service, Google displays relevant text based ads within its search engine results page termed as “Sponsored Links”. Whenever a particular keyword is searched on, these relevant links appear in a separate section giving excellent exposure to the sites listed.

How do you use Google Adwords? First, you have to open an account with the Google Adwords Service. Then, you should indicate your target language and country. This is important because you would not want your products advertised in countries where your product or service cannot be sold. Afterwards, you should now create an ad group. This involves designing the ad, selecting keywords and determining maximum cost per click that you are willing to spend and defining bid amounts. The most important step in creating a successful Adwords campaign is selecting an effective title tag that will catch the attention of your target audience. The title tag, generally a short phrase, is the most important part of your Adwords campaign so make sure that it is attractive and catchy. You should describe the website clearly and accurately. The most effective advertising conveys a clear message to the target audience. With a clear message, you will be attracting qualified leads, which can eventually convert to sale. Thus, the importance of selecting the right keywords cannot be overemphasized.

There are keyword variations you can adapt to reach more prospects. Using these varieties, misspellings and derivatives can help increase the chance of your ads being served. Broad match is targeting keywords in a loosely defined manner. Here, the ads appear based on the keywords that have been queried by other users as opposed to exact match, which calls for the keyword to match the query exactly. Meanwhile, a keyword phrase set to phrase match will only appear when the exact phrase is searched on. A negative keyword is helpful in filtering unrelated pages.

After you have decided on what title tag to use in your ad, you must now define a budget in order to maximize exposure. Google Adwords recommend a daily budget for each campaign. However, you should determine a budget that is suitable and affordable. You should also determine the maximum cost per click. Google will offer a recommended cost per click, but you do not have to stick with this. Usually, a number one position is not ideal as it can also attract unwanted traffic and useless clicks. A number two position is more preferred as it can filter useless clicks and provide traffic with a higher conversion rate.

To conclude, Google Adwords is an excellent strategy and tool in giving your site maximum exposure. Nevertheless, Google Adwords should not be your sole advertising campaign. It will definitely help you find the all-important, highly targeted traffic you need.

Reasons To Choose Small Business VoIP Solutions

Written by admin on in: Internet |

A factor that could make a big difference to the cost of VoIP solutions for small businesses is tax. In comparing plans between VoIP and regular phone providers you need to know how much tax you will be charged. At the moment the only VoIP Taxes charged on a VoIP bill in the U.S is Federal Excise Tax. This is only 3% of your bill compared to regular phone service bill which incorporates several other taxes and fees.

With the regular phone service, state and local taxes are based on where the phone call originates from. This is usually a home or business. However with VoIP the location of the caller is not always known and you are able to connect to the Internet and call from any location using the same phone number. The issue of VoIP taxation has been raised by U.S Members of the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee as it is clear that technology has outpaced the rules for taxation for telephone services.

Regulation of VoIP Around the World

In some countries the introduction of VoIP solutions has prompted governments to impose restrictions on how VoIP solutions can be provided. High taxes are imposed on VoIP businesses in Panama and Columbia and Mexico only allows for existing operators to offer VoIP.

It is also strictly banned in Ethiopia, where the introduction of VoIP solutions has had a negative impact on revenue generated by the government owned telecommunications company. India has plans to allow unrestricted VoIP services but currently only the sale of long distance calling cards are allowed.

In developing countries VoIP solutions providers are a threat to existing traditional teleco companies however government restrictions only deny small businesses of the opportunity to utilize new technology and be on par with their counterparts around the world. There is a lot more information about small business VoIP solutions and T1 business on our blogs.

Marketing Project Management, With Get Organized Now,

Written by admin on in: Online Business, Promotion and Marketing |

You have a plan, a selected target market, a product, and a conversion mechanism.

Now you need traffic. People, prospects. Folks with cash and a desire for what you have available.

Let’s consider key traffic sources in modern marketing:

Online Traffic Sources

My advice is to group sources of online traffic into 5 areas.

Search Engine Marketing Programs
Paid Advertising Programs
Email Lead Gen Programs
Partner Programs
Social Media Programs
Search Engine Marketing Programs

SEO - ‘Free visitors from search engines’ is what some SEO’s call it.small business consultant, But having worked as SEO Manager for the largest independently owned loan brokerage in the UK, I can tell you that traffic from the search engines is not free. Despite not paying per visitor, you still pay in resource time and expertise to be able to rank highly for enough key terms to bring consistent and targetted traffic from SEO. See more at small business manager,

PPC - A very fast and relatively easy way (easy if you know how I guess) of bringing hordes of traffic to your site almost instantly, and completely trackable for performance measurement. As SEO Manager for the loan brokerage we managed a Pay Per Click budget of thousands of pounds every month (I won’t disclose past clients figures of course).

Social Media Programs

A relatively new phenomenon that has evolved with technology beyond the old Internet’s bulletin boards, and message boards, into full blown personality profile driven, video enhanced, user generated communities.

Tapping into Social Media is expensive, but vitally important to 1. keep up to date with trends in your market. 2. survey and understand your target prospects. 3. Develop inlinks to your site important for SEO. Tapping the viral distribution of your marketing messages by users sharing with their friends. Etc.

Paid Advertising Programs

Banner advertising is often the first resort of corporate marketing. get organized now, Paid Ads should be seen as a significant yet small part of the overall generation of new visitor traffic.

Email Lead Gen Programs

As Marketing Manager for Database Group Interactive, I will be able to offer an attractive package for very rapid lead generation, including fully permissioned list rental and broadcast services (as well as other specialist email solutions). See more at get organized techniques,

Partner Programs

Affiliate Programs - Having a horde of loyal affiliates that actively promote your product to their client / customer database is fantastic, important, and just as complicated as the other sources of traffic.

Offline Traffic Sources

There are many ways to skin a cat. Here’s how I skin my offline traffic sources into 5 broad categories:

Broadcast media - tv, radio, newspapers, magazines
Space advertising - flyers, billboards, print-ads
In-person events - industry events, exhibitions, conferences, trade shows,
Direct marketing - leaflet distribution, direct sales, direct mail
Partnerships - Individual or company, formal or informal - other people of influence that can bring you leads
Converting Traffic Into Leads

All that new visitor traffic according to the Aggresive Marketing Traffic Model above, should be directed to open content which attracts them into an optin process so that you acquire their contact details (at minimum this should be their first name and email), project management, and only then do you introduce them to your actual sales offers.

This gives you the opportunity of building a Database Program with a pool of prospects that can be educated and enticed over time, so that at the right moment for them, when their desire or pain is most pressing, you will be in contact with them so they see your offer and by.
