Best 5 Methods To Tackle Dull and Repeating Work in a Home-Based Company 5 Methods To Tackle Boring and Repeating Tasks When Working At Home
One of the problems in the initial stages of establishing a business at home is the necessity to persistently carry out activities that, for many of us, are monotonous and repetitive. This has certainly been the case in my internet marketing coaching business.
So, here are five ways to help render these initial days less arduous:
1. Appreciate Why You Are Doing This
If you understand what you want to accomplish from developing a business, rather than a job, you are able to remind yourself of your reasons whenever the going gets hard. The more specific you can be the better. Don’t just declare I want to get rich. Clarify exactly how much you aim to earn on an yearly basis and then spend some time considering why you chose that precise amount.
Pay distinct attention to exactly what you are wanting to generate in the future which you could do/have in some manner immediately. Then don’t wait. Do it now.
2. Don’t Continue Telling Yourself Disapproving Messages
Don’t continue telling yourself how “monotonous” it is - or whatever your specific whinge is. Don’t talk about it, either to other people or inside your head. Simply get on with it.
The human brain is a magical biocomputer. It sends us energy when we send it something that inspires and it slows us down when we send it something pessimistic or depressing.
The key part to be aware of is that we’re the ones who are sending the data to the computer. Life does not send the brain anything. Only we do, by the way we interpret what life gives and the tale we tell ourselves about it. By way of example we could say “These activities are dull and monotonous and I don’t want to perform them” or we may say “This course of action is a necessary action along the way that’s taking me nearer to what I wish for and it will not always be like this”. Both are interpretations and tales. But, one sends energy and enthusiasm and the other irritation and fatigue. Sending yourself positive messages in one of the easiest motivation techniques to implement.
3. Break Up Your Projects Into Manageable Chunks
Don’t work on any activity for more than 3 1/4s of an hour. And divide up the projects with something different that calls for you to shift your body and move away from the computer screen.
4. Celebrate Your Success
Rather than focussing on what still remains to be done record what you’ve done. By way of example, in my online marketing work, I’ve found it motivating to put a chart on my wall that I fill in each time I write a new piece of writing. Also, I have one for number of articles submitted to directories. Observing the amounts increase demonstrates to me that I am accomplishing something, even when the desired results of my work, in relation to unique visitor numbers, rankings etc. have still to be delivered, and this makes me remain enthusiastic.
5. Learn Something Different
Whilst your daily work is still at the phase of dull and repetitive it is worth making the time to take on something new. This might or might not be related to work. However, Don’t do this, until you’ve completed your key work actions. If your business is online, don’t spend your spare time reading internet marketing articles, for example.
Research shows that the brain essentially increases physical capacity (much like the way an exercised arm increases strength) when you gain knowledge of something new. It does not simply increase the info, it increases “learning strength” via dendrite growth in the physical brain structure that can really be measured.
Whenever you study a new foreign language, or a musical instrument, for example, your brain actually grows smarter and more proficient at resolving difficulties. Hence keep your brain in good physical shape by balancing out the repetitiveness with something new and stimulating.
Whatever you pick to do, there’s no getting away from the necessity to develop discipline and continue repeating the critical jobs every day, if you wish to make a winner of your home based business. I hope the five suggestions above will make your efforts a bit less demanding so, sooner than you think, you will be able to outsource this work and spend greater time on the things which are the most inspiring for you.
